That’s an hour of mind reading at a party in Los Angeles, which is enough to make it the thing everyone remembers. Most people book two. One flat fee, nothing added later, and I’ll tell you exactly what yours is on the phone.

Every party’s different, and I find out more in five minutes on the phone than I do in five emails. I’ll ask who’s coming, how the evening is laid out and what you’re hoping for. Then I’ll tell you what I’d do, and sometimes that’s less than what you asked about. You’ll have a price before we hang up.
You also get to hear what I sound like. I’m going to spend two hours talking to your guests, so I think you should know that before you pay anybody.
You don’t have to decide on the call. If you’d rather not talk on the phone at all, tick that option in the form and I’ll write to you.
| Booking | Good for |
|---|---|
| One hour of strolling | Up to about 45 guests. Dinner parties, smaller birthdays, team dinners. This is the $700 one. |
| Two hours | 50 to 100 guests. Most house parties, most wedding cocktail hours, most receptions. |
| Three hours | 100 to 150 or more. Holiday parties and big receptions. |
| Add the parlor show | A short sit-down set for the whole room once I’ve done the rounds. |
| Add something custom | One piece built around a name, a product, a date or a number that matters to you. |
The performance, with no long breaks. A planning call. The drive, anywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego to Palm Springs. Me arriving half an hour early. A simple agreement, and a W-9 or certificate of insurance if you need them.
The one thing that isn’t included is venue parking, if your venue charges for it. Some of the hotels downtown want forty dollars and I’ve stopped being surprised.
Because we’re not all selling the same thing. A hobbyist on a gig site, a working close-up performer and a touring stage mentalist with TV credits are three different jobs with three different prices. I wrote a whole guide to what mentalists cost in LA if you want the full breakdown.
Yes. A deposit holds the date and the rest is due on the day. It’s all in a one-page agreement.
More hours, mainly. After that it’s the date (December weekends and spring wedding Saturdays cost more), the drive, and whether you’re adding the parlor show or something custom.
Company events tend to cost more because they tend to be more work. There are more calls and more paperwork, and I often end up writing custom material. I price the work and I don’t much care what logo is on the check.
That’s fine. There’s an option in the form for it and I’ll email you instead.
I’d rather talk for ten minutes than trade six emails. I’ll ask about the crowd and the timing, tell you what I’d do, and give you a price before we hang up. You don’t have to decide on the call.
Sets start at $700.
